I thought I'd share some screenshots of the main menu which I am currently working on. I started working on this a while back and am putting in many systems essential to the game.
As you can see, there will just be simple options to navigate through the menu in these early alpha versions of StarForge. The menu is set to view the planet from space, when you hit the "view space" button(which I see the text needs to be placed a bit lower), you can pan the camera around the planet.
I have also upgraded the moons texturing and this will be reflected ingame. I've decided to use a combination of a main big texture and a tiled detail texture. This produces the neat bumps you see all over the surface.
I am also working on an in-game internet browser of which you will see a blog post about soon. It supports tabbed browsing and you will be able to view Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, our forums, ect. all in game. We plan to allow you to launch this anytime during play. It will also be how we integrate our ingame store.
Aside from this I have been working on an in-game inventory which is in it's very early stages. There is also art waiting to be integrated but it will take some time as Steve is busy fixing the physics and getting the tech end to be very stable. I will show more of these areas in the future.
Kevin(LoudCore) is also busy making a main theme song that will play over this menu screen.
We hope to have the first content for Hatch Point purchasers released at the end of the month. It will be the 3D Leaf Tileset.
